Trust the Plan
When God Leads You Somewhere You Never Expected
Have you ever felt like life has taken you somewhere you didn’t plan to go?
Sometimes God takes you on a journey you didn’t know you needed - a journey that feels confusing at first, but is quietly preparing you for everything you’ve been praying for and most of the time, you don’t realise that until you’re already deep in it.
We like plans that make sense: clear directions, predictable timelines. We want to know where we’re going, how long it will take and what the outcome will be, but faith doesn’t usually work that way. God rarely hands us the full map - He asks us to walk with Him one step at a time.
There are seasons when life feels off-course. Prayers go unanswered. Doors close without explanation. The path you thought you’d be on suddenly disappears, replaced by uncertainty and waiting. It’s easy to think you’ve made a wrong turn or worse, that you’ve been forgotten, but what if that detour is the point?
What if the delay is shaping you? What if the disappointment is protecting you? What if the thing you’re resisting is the very thing preparing you?
Often, God is more concerned with who you’re becoming than where you’re going. The journey teaches patience, humility, resilience and trust - things comfort and clarity never could. It strips away what you thought you needed so you can receive what you actually do. Like a gardener pruning a tree, life trims what you thought you needed to help you grow in ways you can’t yet see.
Looking back, many of us can see it clearly. The heartbreak that led to healing. The closed door that redirected us. The season that felt like loss, but turned out to be alignment. At the time, it didn’t look like a blessing. It looked like confusion, like silence or like struggle, but God’s plan is rarely loud. It unfolds quietly, faithfully and right on time.
Trusting the plan doesn’t mean everything feels easy. It means choosing faith when understanding is missing. It means believing that even when life doesn’t look like your prayer, it may still be the answer to it.
So, if you’re in a season that doesn’t make sense - keep walking, keep trusting and keep showing up. The journey may not be what you expected, but it might be leading you exactly where you’re meant to be and one day, you’ll look back and realise: God knew all along.
