From Wishful Words to Purpose in Action

From Dream to Doing:  The Name That Carried Purpose

Three years ago, I qualified as a Life Coach and like many who’ve walked the stage with a certificate in hand and big dreams in their heart, I spoke often of the future I envisioned - one where I'd open my own coaching practice, lovingly named Silver Lining, but for all the times I spoke of it, that dream lived mostly in words.

Even during my interview with Tsebo ya Setjhaba (Public Knowledge), where I was invited to speak on mental health, I found myself sharing my vision - not as something tangible, but as something I’d “love to do one day.” I painted the dream, but never stepped into the frame.

The truth is, dreaming is easy and it's cozy. It doesn’t demand risk, vulnerability or the discomfort of starting and while I’ve always known I had something meaningful to offer, the leap required to create Silver Lining felt like standing on the edge of something sacred, but unknown.

Now, here I am. Not just speaking of it, but living it. I’ve taken the leap, registered my business and stepped into the arena with a heart full of purpose. Silver Lining isn’t just a name - it’s the promise I made to myself and to those I’ll walk alongside in their journey. It’s a symbol of hope, a whisper that even in the storm, there’s something worth holding onto.

This isn't just my launch story - it's a reminder to anyone holding onto their “one day” idea: speak it, yes, but don’t stop there. Honour it by taking that first step, even if it feels imperfect. Dreams deserve more than our thoughts - they deserve our action, because what we call a leap of faith is often just a bridge built from every conversation, every yearning and every version of ourselves that knew... we were meant to try!
