A Morning of Faith, Purpose & Impact

The women’s fundraising event, Beautifully You, held on Saturday, 9 May, was truly one for the books. 

What an incredible success it was!

After an extremely cold and rainy week, we honestly felt a little anxious about the turnout and whether many ladies would brave the weather to attend, but the day truly played in our favour — the weather cleared beautifully and we were blessed with an amazing turnout of a large group of women joining us for a morning filled with inspiration, laughter, connection and purpose.

Together, we managed to raise an incredible amount in support of Redeeming Love Safe House and for that we are deeply grateful to every single woman who attended, supported, donated, sponsored or contributed in any way.

The morning began with coffee and warm welcomes before we entered a beautiful time of worship, praising and celebrating the Lord together. A heartfelt video sharing the story behind Redeeming Love Safe House touched many hearts and left more than a few tears in our eyes as we reflected on the lives being impacted through this ministry.

We were honoured to host two incredible women who brought so much value and joy to the event.

Ilse du Preez, stylist and owner of Salon Hot Trendz, had the room roaring with laughter through her humour, stories and relatable personality, while inspiring the ladies during her live on-stage hair and makeup makeover. One lucky woman walked away with a voucher for a full makeover experience!

Teneil Vorster, image consultant and stylist from Re-Define Image, shared practical and empowering tips on how to dress confidently and stylishly this winter. She taught us how to mix and match basic wardrobe pieces, reuse clothing creatively and better understand which colours complement different skin tones and hair colours. The ladies absolutely loved the interactive on-stage competition and one fortunate attendee won a personal colour analysis session along with access to Teneil’s helpful phone app.

Throughout the event, there were elegant display tables where ladies could browse and support local vendors. There truly was something special for everyone.

The Redeeming Love table featured beautiful bracelets, scarves, jackets, keychains and other meaningful booklets in support of the safe house.

Pattern Homemade Bakery spoiled everyone with delicious baked goods on sale and also provided a flavourful and comforting lasagne lunch for everyone during the lunch break.

Vanguard Interiors showcased their interior design and space-planning services for homes and offices, while Blissful Beginnings offered lovely mom-and-baby essentials including clothing, teething toys and other special items for little ones.

Wild Swan also wonderfully represented the heart and colours of Redeeming Love through specially made scarves, along with many other lovely items available for purchase.

Phoera Queens featured a display table with beauty products and cosmetics for the ladies to browse and purchase.

The church venue itself was absolutely breathtaking, filled with beautiful roses and floral décor throughout the space. On stage, a stunning rose floral installation was created, incorporating an affirmation mirror displaying reminders of “Who I Am in Christ,” forming part of the decorative flower display. Ladies were able to take photos in and around the stunning floral setup at the entrance, capturing special moments together in such an uplifting atmosphere.

The name Beautifully You could not have suited the event more perfectly. Throughout the morning, women were reminded not only of their outer beauty, but of their worth, identity and value in Christ. The affirmation mirror formed such a meaningful part of the décor, encouraging ladies to pause, reflect and see themselves through God’s eyes — loved, chosen, worthy and beautifully made. It created such a heartfelt and uplifting atmosphere, perfectly capturing the heart behind the event.

The excitement continued throughout the day with lucky draws and wonderful giveaways, including prizes such as bungee fitness vouchers and many other spoils generously sponsored by supporters and businesses.

Most importantly, the atmosphere throughout the morning was one of love, encouragement, faith and unity. Women from different walks of life came together to connect, laugh, learn, worship and support a meaningful cause.

A very special thank you also goes to every single person who worked behind the scenes to make the day such a success. From those who assisted with the beautiful décor and floral arrangements, preparing and serving food, donating sponsor gifts and vouchers, selling tickets, making coffee for guests, helping with the setup and event arrangements, to everyone who stayed afterwards to help pack away and clean up — your hard work, kindness and servant hearts did not go unnoticed. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, played a part in creating such a warm and memorable experience for everyone who attended.

Thank you to everyone who made this event possible. Your support means more than words can express and because of you, we are able to continue making a difference in the lives of women in need through Redeeming Love Safe House.

May this event serve as a reminder that true beauty begins within — rooted in faith, identity and knowing Whose you are. When women walk confidently in their God-given purpose, incredible things happen. May we continue encouraging one another, uplifting one another and choosing to live beautifully from the inside out.
